Burnett-Paul Opens Friday Competition with PR
STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Goucher College Gophers opened the weekend of competition on Friday at the Fastrack meet hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
In the 5000-meter run, First-year Dawson Burnett-Paul shaved over a minute off his previous time, earning a new PR of 18:36.41. Burnett-Paul added a finish in the 3000-meter run as well, finishing in 10:49.69.
The 800-meter run featured multiple Gophers, with Jair Smith leading the pack with a top 50 finish (2:01.84). Following behind was Jayden Keels, who earned a time of 2:02.86, Willie Lamb with a time of 2:05.33, and finally Antoine Padonou with a finish of 2:24.97. Joel Lukoo and Padonou competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing with times of 24.43 and 25.00.
To round out the competition for the men, the 4000-meter relay team earned a fourth-place finish with their time of 11:06.23.
The team is back in action at the Big Apple Invitational tomorrow, set to begin action at 3pm.
