Relay Teams Lead the Way as Gophers Compete at Landmark Championships
SELINSGROVE, PA - The Goucher College Gophers traveled to Susquehanna to compete in the Landmark Indoor Track & Field Championships, where the men turned in several strong performances highlighted by relay success.
The Goucher men earned their first podium finish of the meet in the distance medley relay. The team of Jair Smith, Joel Lukoo, Willie Lamb, and Jayden Keels captured second place with a season-best time of 10:44.25. Antoine Padonou followed with a top-20 finish in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 9.41. Relay strength continued later in the meet as Smith, Lukoo, Lamb, and Padonou posted another podium performance, finishing inside the top eight with a time of 1:38.65. Keels added to the scoring efforts with a top-20 showing in the mile, crossing the line in 5:01.74. Lukoo continued his day on the track in the 400 meters, posting a time of 55.44 to earn a top-25 finish. Smith and Lamb each posted top-18 finishes in the men's 800 meters, with Smith running 2:06.38 for 17th place and Lamb clocking 2:07.10 for 18th. Rounding out the day, the men finished eighth in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Lamb, Lukoo, Smith, and Padonou recorded a time of 3:45.83.
