Gophers Celebrate Martin, Deliver Strong Showing at Gallaudet
WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Goucher College Men's Track & Field team competed on the road at the Bison Invitational hosted by Gallaudet University. During the invitational, senior Mark Martin was honored for his contributions to the program.
In the field events, Martin earned a second-place podium finish in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.59 meters. Martin also competed in the triple jump, recording a top-15 finish with a mark of 12.30 meters.
On the track, Jayden Keels ran a season-best time of 4:09.83 in the 1500 meters, earning a tenth-place finish. Jair Smith joined him with a 12th-place finish, clocking in at 4:15.04. Dawson Burnett-Paul secured an eighth-place finish in the 10,000 meters with a personal-best time of 38:39.32. Antoine Padonou represented the Gophers in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 17.42. Willie Lamb recorded a personal best in the 100 meters with a time of 12.30 seconds. In the 400 meters, Joel Lukoo earned a top-12 finish with a time of 54.10. Smith also ran a season-best time of 1:59.07 in the 800 meters. Keels joined Smith in the event, finishing 11th with a time of 2:04.55. Lamb added a podium finish in the 400-meter hurdles, placing third with a personal-best time of 59.30. Padonou secured fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.65. In the 200 meters, Lukoo earned a top-20 finish with a time of 23.62.
The Gophers return to action on Friday, April 17, at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
