Keels Posts Sixth-Place Finish for Men at Baltimore Metro Meet
TOWSON, Md. - Led by a sixth place finish in the men's 5K race by first year Jayden Keels, the Goucher College men's and women's cross country teams opened their seasons Friday as they hosts the Baltimore Metro Meet presented by Timing Mate on the Caslin Cross Country Course.
Keels ran the 5K course in 16:43.54 to place sixth in a field of 77. Sophomore Jair Smith placed 17th with a time of 17:29.90, while coming in right behind Smith was classmate Sam Dylan, who checked in at 17:34.00.
Leo Dinan (21:28.87), Antoine Padonoiu (23:34.40) and Sean Harricharan (23:46.35) rounded out the Goucher men's finishers.
First year Terrica Thornton-Fillyaw led four Gopher women's finishers with a 5K time of 23:16.77 to place 42nd in a field of 86. Reese Finnigan ran a time of 24:29.60, while Imaya Edmonds posted a mark of 24:41.28. Tamryn Thornton-Fillyaw rounded out Goucher with a time of 26:06.91.
The Goucher cross country teams return to action next Saturday when they travel to the LVC Dutchmen Invite hosted by Lebanon Valley College.
