Kaitlyn Firth Nabs Landmark Women's Swimming Weekly Honors
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's swimming first year Kaitlyn Firth was named the Landmark Conference women's swimming Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. Firth is the first Gopher women's swimmer to win Landmark weekly honors since Alexis Regopoulos during the 2014-15 season.
In Saturday's tri-meet against host Wilkes University and Lebanon Valley College, Firth posted three individual event wins and was part of one winning relay for the Gophers. She took first place in the 200 backstroke (2:30.58), the 500 freestyle (5:51.79) and the 200 IM (2:26.46). Firth was also part of the 200 medley team that opened the meet with a first place finish with a time of 2:00.01.
Saturday's meet closed out the first semester for the Gophers. Goucher is back in action January 11 at Susquehanna against the River Hawks and Moravian.
