Gophers Face Greyhounds and Riverhawks in Tri-Meet
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Goucher College Gophers participated in a Landmark conference tri-meet against the Riverhawks of Susquehanna University and the Moriavian University Greyhounds where they earned multiple podium finishes.
The women started the meet with a third place finish in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, earning a time of 2:08.82. The team consisted of Max McCoy, Ella Robinson, Molly Smith, and Olivia Reichardt.
Robinson secured a two second place finishes for the Gophers. The first came in the 200 Yard IM, falling just two seconds behind the first place swimmer (2:27.21). Her other finish came in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:14.97.
Kan Jarvis placed third in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:14.05). Smith notched a third place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:24.08.
For the men, the 200 Yard Medley Relay team consisting of Aiden Grimm, James Piland, Joshua Contreras, and Christian Houck earned third with a time of 1:55.91.
Olivia Barnes earned a third place finish in the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:24.20. Contreras earned a second placed finish for the Gophers with a time of 59.87 in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Grimm also added a second place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:07.09). Piland finished the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:11.72, adding a third place finish for the Gophers.
The Gophers compete on Saturday, January 18th at Drew University. They return home for a tri-meet against the Gallaudet and McDaniel on Saturday, January 25th for their senior meet.
