Senior Spotlight: Equestrian/Track And Field Victoria Wheeler

Ladies and gentlemen, with today's Senior Spotlight we would like to thank an athlete for her hard work and dedication to Goucher College to the equestrian and track and field programs for the four years! This senior hails from Kinnelon, New Jersey, who has appeared in 16 indoor meets and 19 outdoor events in her track career. She placed sixth with a personal-best time in the 400m hurdles at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships in her freshman campaign. As a rider for the equestrian team, she placed in five events and won at two competitions in the intermediate flat in her sophomore campaign. This year, she qualified for the IHSA Zone IV Region I Championships. Majoring in business, ladies and gentlemen, Victoria Wheeler.

  2019-20 (EQUESTRIAN)
 
  • Placed in one event
  • Placed third in the intermediate flat at the Goucher IHSA Show on October 26
  • Qualified for the IHSA Zone IV Region I Championships
  2019-20 (TRACK AND FIELD)
 
  • Appeared in five meets during the indoor season, but did not compete in the outdoor season due to COVID-19
  • Finished third in the 500m run with a time of 1:34.56 at the Mini-Dip Invitational on January 31
  • Helped 4x200m and 4x400m relays to second-place seasons at two different meets
   2018-19 (EQUESTRIAN)
 
  • Placed in one event
  • Finished second in the intermediate flat at Maryland/American IHSA Show on March 3
   2018-19 (TRACK AND FIELD)
 
  • Participated in seven competitions on the year
  • Finished 14th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:31.34 at the Landmark Conference Championships on May 4-5
  • Placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:44.69 at the Gallaudet Invitational on April 20
  2017-18 (EQUESTRIAN)
 
  • Ribboned in three competitions
  • Won intermediate flat at George Washington/George Mason IHSA Show on November 5
  • Won intermediate flat at American/Maryland IHSA Show on November 19
  2017-18 (TRACK AND FIELD)
 
  • Competed in five meets each during the indoor and outdoor seasons
  • Ended 13th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:18.07 at the Landmark Conference Championships on May 5-6
  • Finished second in the 400m hurdles at the McDaniel Twilight on April 23
  2016-17 (TRACK AND FIELD)
 
  • Participated in six meets in the indoor season and seven during the outdoor campaign
  • Placed sixth with a personal-best time of 1:14.54 at the Landmark Conference Championships in the 400m hurdles on May 6-7
  • Made collegiate debut at the River Hawk Opener in three events on December 3
