Gladney Breaks School Record In The Discus To Pace Goucher Track And Field At Eastern Shore Challenge
SALISBURY, Md. – Joel Gladney (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) established a new school record in the discus to power the Goucher College track and field team at the Eastern Shore Challenge on Saturday.
Gladney hurled a toss of 41.02m on his first attempt to establish a new school record. Gladney also finished sixth in the shot put after a toss of 11.39m on his third attempt.
Tee Bakara (Silver Spring, Md./Archbishop Carroll) had a nice collegiate debut with a fifth-place standing in the 100m (13.22) and an eighth-place finish in the 200m (27.23). Jaelan Gabriel (Houston, Texas/Dulles) placed eighth in the 400m (1:13.78), while Katherine Hernandez Guevara (Hyattsville, Md./Bladensburg) was eighth in the 1500m (5:50.67) and 11th in the 800m (2:53.16) in their collegiate debuts.
Mustafa Honeyblue (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis Senior) also made his collegiate debut with a 14th-place standing in the 100m (11.58) and a 16th-place finish in the 200m (23.74).
Neli La Court Ruiz (York, Pa./Northeastern) finished 13th in the 200m (28.76).
Goucher returns to action at the Moravian Coach P Open on Saturday, April 17.
