Whitfield Wins 400m At Blue Jays Tune-Up To Power Goucher Track And Field

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Sean Whitfield (Beltsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and Mustafa Honeyblue (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis Senior) finished 1-2 in the 400m to pace the Goucher College track and field team at the Blue Jays Tune-up on Saturday.

Whitfield notched the first win of his collegiate career with his first-place finish in the 400m with a time of 53.44, while Honeyblue finished second in the event with a time of 54.07.

Katherine Hernandez Guevara (Hyattsville, Md./Bladensburg) placed third in the 3000m steeplechase (14:08.29) to lead the women's side.

Isabel Srour (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) finished sixth in the 800m (2:58.74), while Jaelan Gabriel (Houston, Texas/Dulles) placed in in the 100m (13.70) and the 800m (28.65). Tara Abdullah-Nri (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Technical) was seventh in the discus (25.39m) and 10th in the shot put (7.52m).

Goucher returns to action at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 8.
