Whitfield, Thornton-Fillyaw Compete at Dalton Ebanks Invitational

FAIRFAX, Va. - Senior Sean Whitfield and sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw of the Goucher College track and field teams competed in the men's and women's 800-meter runs, respectively, at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational hosted by George Mason on Friday.

Whitfield finished 38th in a field of 89 men's competitors and fourth among Division III runners with an 800 time of 1:58.46.

Thornton-Fillyaw, running the 800 for the first time in the outdoor season after finishing fifth in the indoor 800 at NCAA Division III nationals, placed 14th overall with a time of 2:18.32.  Her time was second among Division III runners in the event. Her time is currently No. 40 nationally.

The Goucher track and field teams are back in action on Saturday at the Bison Open hosted by Gallaudet University.
