Gophers Compete at ECAC Championships

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Goucher College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams had several athletes competing at the ECAC Division III Championships at Stevenson University on Friday.

Emmanuel Olarewju finished first in the men's 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 59.11 seconds, the lone competitor to break the one minute mark.  

In the women's 100-meter hurdles, Aaliyah Briddell placed second with a time of 16.14 seconds.

Senior Lydia Bailey had a women's hammer throw of 32.23 meters to place second.  In the javelin throw Bailey was third with a mark of 26.88 meters.

Sean Whitfield came in second in the men's 800, completing his two laps in 2:03.53.  In the women's 800 Imaya Edmonds ran a time of 2:38.02 to place second.

AJ Landy clocked in at 23.53 seconds to come in seventh in the men's 200.  In the men's 100-meter prelims, Deonte Lewis was ninth at 11.66 seconds, missing the final by 0.04 seconds.

Goucher returns to action and wraps up the regular season Monday as select athletes will compete at the Widener Last Chance meet.
