Thornton-Fillyaw Breaks Landmark 800 Record at Widener
CHESTER, Pa. - Sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw of the Goucher College women's track and field team broke her own school record and lowered the Landmark Conference record set just eight days ago as she ran a time of 2:08.63 in the women's 800 at the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday.
Thornton-Fillyaw bested her own school record of 2:09.81 set last Sunday at the Landmark Conference Championships. She also broke the Landmark Conference record of 2:09.62 set by Elizabethtown's Kelty Oaster in that race. Her time is currently No. 4 in NCAA Division III. She finished second behind club runner Kaitlin Ryan.
Senior Sean Whitfield ran a time of 1:54.78 in the men's 800 to place 17th overall. First year Emmanuel Olarewju was ninth in the men's 400 hurdles, clocking in at 57.89 seconds, while KeMarco Monger ran a time of 22.97 in the men's 200.
