Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw Selected to CSC Academic All-District Team
TOWSON, Md. - Sophomore Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw of the Goucher College women's track and field and cross country teams has been named to the 2023-24 Academic All-District Team selected by College Sports Communicators, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Thornton-Fillyaw is a sophomore Environmental Science major from Adelphi, Maryland. She earned USTFCCCA All-America honors in both indoor and outdoor track and field in the 800-meter run, and was also a USTFCCCA All-Region performer in cross country.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be in the top 50 of an event regionalls and have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Track and Field/Cross Country teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 9.
