Day 1 Landmark Track & Field Championship
Sellinsgrove, Pa.- The Gophers headed to Susquehanna University to compete in Day 1 of the Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Aryanna Paulena started the podium finishes for the Gophers winning first place in the women's pole vault. Her vault of 3.70 meters was a standout win with second place vaulting 3.40 meters. Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw was another podium finish in the women's 1500 meter. Her time of 4:34.98 earned her second place. In the women's 100-meter prelims Nancy Nyadongo qualified in first place with a time of 12.28. She also qualified in first place in the women's 200-meter prelims. In the field events Nehemiah Convington placed in the top 10 for men's hammer throw and Max McCoy was in the top 10 for the women's shot put.
The Gophers will be back tomorrow for day 2 of competition.
