STERLING, Va. - Having already been named Women's Basketball Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference for Nov. 26-Dec. 2, Goucher's Shadae Swan (Baltimore, MD/St. Frances Academy) today was recognized for as one of the top Division III players in the nation for that seven-day period by the web site D3hoops.com.
Swan, who was Goucher's leading scorer in all three games the Gophers played that week, was chosen to be on the web site's Team of the Week, a listing of the top players by position each week.
A senior guard, Swan averaged 27.0 points per game during the week, matching her career-high point total with a 34-point performance in an 81-69 triumph over Christopher Newport. She also poured in 26 points in a 66-50 victory over Hood and 21 points in an 80-56 win over Trinity (D.C.).
In the three games, Swan was 31-for-49 from the field (.633), including 8-for-12 from three-point range. She made 11 of the 12 free throws she attempted, pulled down 19 rebounds, handed out eight assists, made five steals and blocked three shots.
