Greyhounds Snap Gophers' Winning Streak at Two Games
TOWSON, Md. — Goucher, which was aiming for its first three-game winning streak since consecutive victories over Hood, Trinity (D.C.) and Christopher Newport early in the 2007-08 campaign, instead surrendered the first 12 points of tonight's Landmark Conference game against Moravian and wound up suffering a 72-55 setback to the Greyhounds in front of a crowd of 185 in the Decker Sports & Recreation Center.
Huff Tallies 15 of Game-High 19 Points in Second Half

Taquasia Lambert (Brooklyn, N.Y./Patapsco) provided the Gophers (2-12, 2-4 Landmark) with their first points of the contest when she converted a layup 7:16 into the contest. The Greyhounds (10-7, 5-1 Landmark) went ahead by 20 points for the first time on a pair of free throws by Alexandra Blair with 3:34 remaining in the first half and they enjoyed a commanding 35-16 advantage after 20 minutes.
Although the Gophers outscored the Greyhounds, 39-37, in the second half, Moravian, which is tied with Scranton for first place in the Landmark Conference, maintained at least a 14-point lead throughout the period.
Sharnell Huff (Bowie, Md./Bowie) was the leading scorer for the Gophers, who were coming off back-to-back victories over Drew and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy last weekend. Although she managed only four points in the first half, Huff finished with a game-high 19 points.
Blair was the only double-digit scorer for Moravian as she had 14 points to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Greyhounds, who are 7-0 against the Gophers since the formation of the Landmark Conference, were 28-for-60 from the field (.467) and wound up with a 54-36 advantage in rebounds.
