23-2 Run to Close Game Dooms Gophers

ARLINGTON, Va. —  Over the last 9:02 of the game, Goucher was held to just two points, turning a close game into a blowout.

When Sharnell Huff (Bowie, Md./Bowie) hit a jumper to cut the lead to three, things were looking up for Goucher (1-3). The visiting team had taken the lead six separate times in the first half before heading to intermission down by just one.

But Huff's basket, giving her a team-high 13 points in the game, would be the last points Goucher scored for almost seven minutes until Precious Kollock (Baltimore, Md/Patapsco) made a layup with 2:37 remaining.

But it was too little too late.

Marymount (3-2) scored 14 consecutive points during Goucher's offensive drought and added the next nine after Kollock's basket to cap the 23-2 run to close the game, leading to the final 57-33 scoreline.

Tynisha Parks had 10 second-half points on her way to a game-high 14 points for the Saints. Katelyn Fischer added 13 points and had seven assists.

Latifah Butler (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) pulled down 12 rebounds for the Gophers, marking her third straight game with double digit rebounds. The freshman now averages over 11 rebounds per game in her career.
