Butler Claims Weekly Honor From Landmark Conference

56 Points, 20 rebounds in Two Games in Las Vegas

TOWSON, Md. — Latifah Butler (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis), who scored 56 points in the two games Goucher played at the 2012 Las Vegas Hoopla, today was named Women's Basketball Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference for Dec. 17-30.

In a 62-60 victory over Adrian, Butler supplied the Gophers with 30 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked a shot at the horn to preserve the two-point win. It was the first time a freshman for Goucher had scored at least 30 points in a game since the 2004-05 season.

Butler also tallied 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 104-90 loss to North Central.

Through the first 10 games of the season, Butler is averaging 19.4 points per contest.
