Women’s Basketball Coach Andrea Preston Captures First Goucher Win

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - On Saturday afternoon, the Goucher College women's basketball team took home their first victory since the 2016-17 season when they defeated Cabrini at the Swarthmore Tip-Off Classic 61-57. This is also coach Preston's first win at Goucher.

Though the lead changed often throughout this contest, in the third quarter the Gophers overcame a 9-point deficit and took the winning spot away from Cabrini.

Freshman Anise Williams (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Erica Boozer (Odenton, Md.) scored a combined 29 points for the Gophers during the matchup. Williams sank 7 field goals and went 2-5 from the line to rack up 16 points. Boozer put up 8 field goals, including 2 three-pointers to lead the team in threes.

The Gophers will be back in action on Tuesday, November 20, as they take on Notre Dame (Md.) at home at 6 PM.
