Wolard Records Second-Straight Double-Double In Loss At E-town For Goucher Women's Basketball

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Goucher College drops a Landmark Conference women's basketball game at Elizabethtown College on Wednesday. 

Anise Williams (West Palm Beach, Fla./The Benjamin School) paced the Gophers with 15 points. Williams has reached double figures in 10 of the last 11 games and 19 times in her freshman campaign.The freshman leads the team with 15.6 points per game.

Nicole Wolard (Tampa, Fla./Wharton) tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds for her second-straight double-double. It was her fifth double-double this season and 14th of her career after recording the trick nine times in 2017-18. She has scored double figures 14 times this season and 34 times in her career while hauling in 10+ rebounds 17 times at Goucher. The senior is averaging 10.4 and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Alayna McFadden (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) chipped in seven points and eight rebounds while Jorryn Avery (Glen Burnie, Md./Severn School) had eight points in the loss.

The Blue Jays used a 23-7 first quarter and 16-12 second quarter to take a 39-19 lead going into the locker room. The Gophers played even with Elizabethtown in the third quarter to an 11-all standstill and then the Blue Jays took the fourth stanza for a 73-45 victory.

Goucher returns to action on Saturday at Moravian College. Game time is 2 p.m.
