Moneshia Davis Added to Women's Basketball Staff
TOWSON, Md. - Goucher College women's basketball head coach Joya Whittington announced that Moneshia Davis has joined the Gophers' coaching staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Davis, who played collegiately at Morgan State, most recently served as an assistant basketball coach at Garrison Forest School since 2020. She also has coached middle school basketball, volleyball and softball at The Bryn Mawr School, where Davis currently serves as a physical education teacher for kindergarten through fifth grade. From 2015-17, Davis served as the associate head coach of the women's basketball program at CCBC-Catonsville.
A five-year member of the women's basketball program at Morgan State, Davis was a medical redshirt in the 2009-10 season. From 2008-13 Davis appeared in 105 games, starting 66. She averaged five points and four rebounds per game and helped lead the Bears to the Women's NIT in the 2010-11 season. Davis was a five-year member of the MEAC All-Academic Team.
A native of St. Louis, Davis graduated from Morgan State with her Bachelor's in Physical Education in 2012. She went on to earn her Master's in Education at Morgan State in 2020.
Goucher, under first-year head coach Whittington, opens its season at home on Tuesday, November 8 against Shenandoah University at 7 pm at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
