WASHINGTON, D.C. - Graduate student Amira Whitaker led four players in double figures with 25 points as the Goucher College women's basketball team completed a season sweep of Trinity Washington University with a 124-56 win at the Trinity Center Saturday afternoon.
Goucher (6-3) led 29-16 at halftime and 55-27 at intermission. The Gophers reached the 100-point mark for the fifth time this season and are now averaging 98.6, continuing to lead Division III in scoring average.
Trinity Washington fell to 3-8.
Whitaker led four Gophers in double figures. First year Meona Boykin totaled 19 points, while Darby Sherman registered 13 points. Briyah Haggins added 10 points.
Maiya Villanueva, Chi Igwe and Lauryn Towns chipped in with nine points apiece, while Nia Edens recorded eight points.
Goucher's six wins are already its most since 2015-16, while its 6-3 start is the program's best since 1993-94.
The Gophers return to action Wednesday when they host Rosemont College at noon at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
