Pevey Leads Goucher Women's Golf After Pfeiffer Invitational First Round

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Christina Pevey (Post, Texas/Post) sits in 38th place to lead the Goucher College women's golf team to a 10th-place standing after the first round of the Pfeiffer Invitational on Monday.

Pevey shot a 95 in the first round to sit in 38th place, 19 strokes behind the leader in the Gophers first competition of the spring. 

Emmie Starchvick (Jacksonville, Ore./South Medford) (39th place, 96),  Lauren O'Leary (Potomac, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross)  (49th place, 102), Danielle Pena (Montgomery, Texas/Montgomery) (55th place, 105) and Emily Pochet (Royersford, Pa./Pennsylvania Leadership Charter) (55th place, 105) rounded out Goucher's five competitors.

Rhodes leads the two-day tournament with a score of 313, 21 strokes ahead of Malone (334) while Piedmont (339), Mars Hill (344) and Drew (345) round out the Top-5 teams. The Gophers sit in 10th place with a first-round score of 398.

Goucher returns to action on Tuesday in the final round of the Pfeiffer Invitational.
