HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Emmie Starchvick (Jacksonville, Ore./South Medford) finished in 39th place to lead the Goucher College women's golf team to a 10th-place standing at the Pfeiffer Invitational on Monday.
Starchvick posted a 96 in the first round and a 95 in the second round to finish as the Gophers top golfer in 39 place with a two-round score of 191, 42 strokes behind the medalist.
Christina Pevey (Post, Texas/Post) (42nd place, 193), Danielle Pena (Montgomery, Texas/Montgomery) (53rd place, 209), Emily Pochet (Royersford, Pa./Pennsylvania Leadership Charter) (55th place, 213) and Lauren O'Leary (Potomac, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) (56th place, 214), rounded out Goucher's five competitors.
Rhodes won the two-day tournament with a score of 633, 29 strokes ahead of Malone (662) while Piedmont (675), Mars Hill (695) and Bridgewater (703) rounded out the Top-5 teams. The Gophers finished in 10th place with scores of 398 and 405 for a two-round score of 803.
Goucher returns to action at the Augustine Spring Invitational on March 30.
