BALTIMORE, Md. – Christina Pevey (Post, Texas/Post), a member of the Goucher College women's golf team, has been named a Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week.
With the unprecedented cancellation of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark will be recognizing an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored spring sport for the remainder of the academic year. Honorees were nominated for recognition by their respective institution.
Pevey recorded a pair of Top-10 finishes and registered a 97.3 strokes per round average in three rounds in the fall. The junior finished sixth at the Jefferson Fall Tri-Match on September 22 to pace the Gophers with a round of 99. She then posted her best round of the season after carding a 90 to place ninth at the Eastern Fall Invitational on October 9 and then finished 17th at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview with a score of 103 on October 19.
Pevey paced the Gophers to a pair of third-place finishes at the 2018 and 2019 Landmark Conference Women's Golf Championships and earned a pair of All-Landmark Conference first-team selections. The junior finished third in 2018 after carding a pair of 93s in the tournament for a two-round score of 186 and then placed fifth in 2019 after carding a 95 and then a 84 in the second round for a two-day total of 179.
