Matt Shur Steps Down as Head Golf Coach at Goucher College
BALTIMORE, MD - The Goucher College Athletics Department has announced that head golf coach Matt Shur will be stepping down from his position to accept another professional opportunity at Millersville University.
Shur concludes his time leading the Gophers program after helping guide the continued growth of the men's and women's golf teams both on and off the course. Throughout his tenure, he played an important role in developing a positive student-athlete experience while fostering success in competition and in the classroom.
"Matt has been a valued member of our athletics department and has made a meaningful impact on our student-athletes during his time at Goucher," said Director of Athletics Stephanie Johnson. "We appreciate the energy, professionalism, and care he brought to the program and department each day, and we are excited to see him continue to grow in his career."
"I want to thank Goucher for giving me the opportunity to lead the golf program these past four years. I have been lucky to coach a group of student-athletes who made the experience truly enjoyable every day. I am proud of what we were able to build together, and I am grateful for the relationships I have built with players, alumni, and staff," said Shur. "I am excited for the next chapter at Millersville, but will always appreciate my time at Goucher."
June 30th will mark Shur's final day at Goucher. A search for the next leader of the Gophers golf programs will begin immediately.
