Matches Longest Goucher Win Streak Since 2007 Campaign
TOWSON, Md. — Finishing up a grueling stretch of three games in four days, Goucher had enough in the tank to dispatch of Greensboro, 17-4 today on Beldon Field.
The Gophers (5-2) got on the scoreboard first when Erin Reifsnyder (Austin, Texas/St. Andrew's Episcopal) tallied the game's opening goal less than a minute into the game.
Reifsnyder doubled the lead 2:06 into the contest. before Greensboro (0-7) got on the scoreboard. The junior tallied four goals on the day.
Over the remaining 21:15 of the half, however, Goucher scored all seven goals, taking a 9-1 lead into intermission.
The Gophers outscored the Pride 8-3 in the second half as well to ice the game.
This is the team's longest winning streak since 2007. In that campaign, the Gophers rattled off four straight wins as well, but all of the wins came on the road. This stretch has seen the Gophers win four straight, all at home.
In 2007, the Gophers topped Marymount, York, Rowan and St. Mary's (Md.), three of which were Capital Athletic Association foes, in succession.
