TOWSON, Md. – Goucher (2-2) hadn't allowed a goal in the second half of any game so far this season until Rutgers-Camden punched in three goals over the final 45:00 this afternoon on the way to a 3-0 victory over the Gophers.
Dana Walters, who had not scored in any of the Scarlet Raptors' first six games of the season, accounted for two of her team's goals in today's win at Beldon Field. She ended a scoreless tie 4:50 into the second half by turning a pass from Jessica Leoni into a goal and then put the visitors ahead 2-0 with an unassisted goal at 70:33.
A penalty kick by Kendyll Clayton at 87:28 produced the final goal of the contest.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kellen Matthews (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin Regional), who hadn't had to make more than nine saves in a game so far this season, was credited with 12 today as Rutgers-Camden (5-2) finished with a 22-2 advantage in shots.
