WASHINGTON, D.C. – Goucher was limited to four shots today in a 5-1 Landmark Conference loss to Catholic.
The Cardinals (8-5-2, 3-0-1 Landmark), meanwhile, unleashed a total of 28 shots and assumed a 2-0 lead on goals by Kelly Donnelly at 12:45 and Elyse Bellardini at 39:57.
Before time expired in the first half, however, the Gophers (6-7-1, 0-3 Landmark) closed to within 2-1 on an unassisted goal by Erin Bradley (Framingham, Mass./Marian). It was the freshman forward's eighth goal of the season.
Caitlin Brett restored Catholic's lead to two goals when she scored 4:11 into the second half. Bellardini tallied her second goal of the contest at 55:38, putting the Cardinals ahead 4-1, and Chelsea King closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal at 72:41.
