Landmark Goes with Rudolph as Week's Top Defensive Player

Freshman GK Extends Scoreless Streak to 270 Minutes
TOWSON, Md. — Lexi Rudolph (Kensington, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel), the first freshman to start in goal for Goucher since 2007, was selected Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference today for Sept. 3-9.
Rudolph needed to make only five saves in the two games the Gophers played during the week to keep her goals-against average this season at 0.00. She stopped three shots in a 2-0 triumph over Albright and two more in a 1-0 victory over Washington (Md.).
So far this season, she's made nine saves without allowing a goal in a total of 270 minutes played.
The school record for shutouts in a season is six, established in 1995 by Lauren Pozsonyi and matched in 2008 by Kellen Matthews.
