TOWSON, Md. — Goucher junior midfielder Gaby Davis (New York, N.Y./LaGuardia), who tied for the team lead in both goals and points this fall, was announced as a Second-Team All-Landmark performer by the conference this morning.
Davis finished the 2014 campaign with four goals and two assists, giving her 10 points overall. Three of those four goals were scored in Landmark competition, and she also tallied three game-winning strikes for the Gophers.
"This is a well-deserved honor for Gaby," head coach Tati Korba said. "She is a consistent, hard-nosed player who led our team in scoring this year from the midfield. We are happy that the Landmark coaches recognized her impact."
Davis was one of 24 players to earn all-conference accolades after votes were collected from the eight Landmark coaches. Her overtime penalty kick lifted Goucher to its first conference victory of the season at Juniata, and she also registered the game-winning goal in the program's 2-1 win over Susquehanna to conclude the fall.
The other go-ahead marker came in a 3-1 triumph at Hood on Sept. 24. Davis has started 45 of the 47 matches she has appeared in through her first three years, and she will enter her senior season with seven goals and 10 assists for her career.
The Gophers have now had at least one player recognized in the Landmark's postseason awards in every season since the conference's formation in 2007.
Moravian's Kirsten Schall was selected as the conference's Offensive Player of the Year, while Landmark champions Catholic swept the remaining three major awards. Tricia Colucci (Defensive Player of the Year), Alexa Povelaitis (Rookie of the Year) and J.P. Sousa (Coach of the Year) were each honored for the Cardinals.
