BALTIMORE, MD - The Goucher College women's soccer team (1-17 overall; 0-9 conference) hosted the River Hawks of Susquehanna University (9-8-2 overall; 4-3-2 conference) in the final game of the regular season on Tuesday afternoon. Despite the strong defensive efforts from the Gophers, the River Hawks secured the 1-0 win.
After two early attempts from Susquehanna, the match settled into a midfield battle, marked by a ten-minute shotless stretch. In the 22nd minute, the River Hawks broke past the defensive line for the Gophers, earning the only goal of the competition. The River Hawks continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, forcing Nia George to make several key stops.
Susquehanna kept their attack active in the second half, recording eight shots in the first 20 minutes. Goucher responded with a late offensive push and created several opportunities, but none were able to find the back of the net.
Susquehanna outshot Goucher, 24-7, and earned six corners compared to Goucher's zero. George earned 11 saves in the competition, in the full 90 minutes.
This game concludes the 2025 season for Goucher women's soccer. They will return to action next fall on Beldon Field.
