Bio

Angela Amato is entering her second year at the helm of the women’s soccer program at Goucher College. Prior to Goucher, Amato served as an Assistant Coach at Marymount University from 2023-2025, where she helped to take the Saints to their first Atlantic East Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament Appearance.  During that time, Marymount Women’s Soccer secured several Atlantic East All-Conference accolades, including Rookie of the Year for two consecutive seasons. Before her time with the Saints, Amato was the Assistant Coach at Susquehanna University, where she helped the River Hawks break into the top five of their regional rankings, with several standout players earning All-Landmark, All-Region, and All-America honors. 

Outside of her college coaching experience, Amato has worked with several premier clubs, including Baltimore Armour, DC Soccer Club, and North Union United. She has spent several years on staff with Maryland State Youth Soccer Association, Maryland’s Olympic Development Program (ODP), and most recently with the Philadelphia Union. She currently holds her US Soccer Federation Coaching ‘D’ License, while also being certified as a Level 2 CrossFit Trainer. 

Amato is a Baltimore native and a graduate of Notre Dame Prep. She has a BA in Communications from Susquehanna University, where she was a member of the women’s soccer team from 2010 to 2014. Amato was named to the All-Landmark Conference team in 2011 and 2013 and was a two-year captain for the Crusaders.  She recently obtained a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University and resides in the area with her family and two dogs.
