Bio

Director of Athletics at Goucher College, Stephanie Johnson, announced that Angela Amato has been named the Head Coach of Women’s Soccer. She will begin her post on July 7^th.

Previously an athlete in the Landmark Conference, Amato served as an Assistant Coach at her Alma Mater, Susquehanna University, for a season before joining the coaching staff at Marymount University in 2023. During her first year with the Saints, Amato assisted in leading the team to their first Conference Championship, along with their first-ever NCAA playoff berth. 

"I’m thrilled to welcome Angela Amato as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Goucher College! Angela brings a deep understanding of our conference, having both played and coached within it. Her experience, passion, and fresh perspective are exactly what we need to elevate our Women’s Soccer program to the next level." Said Director of Athletics, Stephanie Johnson.

Amato’s coaching experience outside of college includes work with North Union United Soccer Club, and the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association. She currently holds her US Soccer Federation Coaching D License, while also being a certified as a Level 2 CrossFit Trainer. 

Amato is also pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has been working towards her clinical hours for this Masters.

It's a true privilege to be named the Head Coach of the women's soccer program and am eager to start working with this amazing group of student-athletes as we lead this program forward." Said Amato.
