The triangular competition among Landmark Conference members got under way with the Gophers (5-6) grabbing quick 7-0 leads over both the Rangers and the Mariners thanks to the winning efforts of Bethany Natoli (Alexandria, VA/O'Connell), Alex Deffaa (Glen Rock, NJ/Oakwood Friends School), Sam Sutherland (North Reading, MA/Austin Prep) and Britt Hogstrom (Killington, VT/Woodstock Union) in the 200 medley relay.
