Hogstrom Breaks Pool Record in 50 Free in 125-54 Win

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Britt Hogstrom (Killington, Vt./Woodstock Union) touched first in two individual events and set a new pool record with her time on the opening leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay during Goucher's 125-54 non-conference victory over Arcadia this afternoon.
Bethany Natoli (Alexandria, Va./O'Connell) and Sam Sutherland (North Reading, Mass./Austin Prep) also took first place in a pair of individual events for the Gophers (4-2).
Goucher outscored Arcadia, 26-4, in the two relays by taking both first and second place in the 200 medley and first in the 200 free. Hogstrom lowered the pool record in the 50 free to :26.25 while leading off one of the Gophers' two entries in the 200 free relay.
The 50 free is also one of the two individual events in which Hogstrom finished in first place, doing it with a time of :26.40. She also posted the fastest time (:58.02) in the 100 free. Natoli touched first in the 200 free (2:13.23) and 100 back (1:06.62); Sutherland's winning times were 2:28.88 in the 200 individual medley and 1:18.57 in the 100 breast.
Goucher also produced the top performers in the 1000 free where Lindsey Phillipson-Weiner (Merion, Pa./Lower Merion) was clocked at 12:23.92 and the 500 free where Victoria Adinolfi (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) finished in 6:22.32. The only event in which Arcadia (0-4-1) took first place was the 100 butterfly.
