Eagles, Royals Keep Gophers from First 2011-12 Win

The Gophers (0-5, 0-4 Landmark) were beaten by Juniata, 86-35, and Scranton, 103-19.

Victoria Adinolfi (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) and Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) were the third swimmers to finish in a pair of individual events.
Scranton's Carolyn Gillespie (:59.52) and Juniata's Falon Snyder (1:07.26) both touched ahead of Adinolfi in the 100-yard butterfly; in the 200 butterfly, Kaitlyn Maloney (2:28.87) and Chloe Scobee (2:33.14) of the Royals finished 1-2 with Adinolfi coming in third. Adinolfi's times in the two events were 1:07.87 in the 100 and 2:37.24 in the 200.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Juniata's Kathryn Viola was first (1:11.34), Scranton's Jenny Fitzmaurice was second (1:12.89) and Craver was third (1:15.45). Scranton's Paige Agnello was clocked at 2:20.56 to take top honors in the 200 individual medley, with Viola finishing second (2:22.16) and Craver third (2:26.37).
The Royals (6-0, 2-0 Landmark) emerged with a pair of wins as they also defeated the Eagles (5-2, 1-1 Landmark), 84-37.
