Craver Makes Championship Finals in Third Event

Gophers Finish Meet in Eighth Place with 171 Points

SCRANTON, Pa. — Goucher's haul on the final day of the 2013 Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, which included the 11 points earned by Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) for her eighth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, amounted to 49 points.

That brought the Gophers' total to 171 points, which put them in eighth place in the final team scoring.

For the second year in a row, the Landmark title was captured by Susquehanna, which accumulated 803 points during the three-day meet. Scranton, with 666.5 points, was the runner-up.

The 100 free, which Craver completed in 56.77 seconds, was the third event at this year's meet in which the sophomore made it into the championship finals. She placed sixth in the 200-yard individual medley on the opening day and fifth in the 400 IM on Saturday.

Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) advanced to the consolation finals of the 200 backstroke today and picked up nine points by finishing in ninth place with her time of 2:21.69.

Marykate Malone (Gales Ferry, Conn./Ledyard) and Lillian Eden (Ipswich, Mass./Westover) placed 11th and 16th, respectively, in the 1650 free. Malone was clocked at 20:10.15 and Eden at 20:42.39.

Goucher's entry of Abbey Wegman (Knoxville, Tenn./Berean Christian), Sydney Patterson (Dallas, Texas/Woodrow Wilson), Malone and Craver posted a time of 4:01.49 in the 400 free relay, good for eighth place.
