Craver Turns In Three First-Place Efforts for Gophers

Third for Wegman in 50 Free, Same for Patterson in 100 Fly
YORK, Pa. — Despite three first-place performances out of sophomore Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area), Goucher came up short against both opponents it faced this evening in a triangular meet.
York, which hosted the event, came out with a pair of victories as the Spartans (2-6) defeated head coach Thomas Till's squad, 127-75, and Salisbury, 106-98. The Sea Gulls (2-5) pinned a 134-68 setback on the Gophers (1-8).
Craver touched first in the 100-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley. The event in which she was most challenged was the 100 breast where she touched in 1:12.90, 7-hundredths of a second ahead of Courtney Dachaux from York.
Craver's other winning times were :56.48 in the 100 free and 2:18.78 in the 200 IM.
Goucher had two swimmers place third in an event: Abbey Wegman (Knoxville, Tenn./Berean Christian) in the 50 free (:27.71) and Sydney Patterson (Dallas, Texas/Woodrow Wilson) in the 100 butterfly (1:10.61).
