Craver Finishes as Runner-Up in 400 IM, 200 Breast

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. — Goucher's Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) was the runner-up in two events in today's meet against St. Mary's (Md.), which was won by the Seahawks, 159-43.

Craver led a 2-3 finish by the Gophers (0-2) in the 400-yard individual medley as she was clocked at 5:00.77 and teammate Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) followed in 5:18.69. Craver's other second-place performance was in the 200 breaststroke (2:44.94).

Sydney Patterson (Dallas, Texas/Woodrow Wilson) claimed third place in both the 200 freestyle (2:17.67) and the 500 free (6:01.94). Rebecca Kotula (Fallston, Md./John Carroll School) finished third in the 50 free with her time of 28.89 seconds; Catherine Gepner (West Allenhurst, N.J./Ocean Twp.) completed the 200 butterfly in 2:47.43, good for third place.

In addition to taking first place in all nine individual events and both relays, the Seahawks (2-1) pulled off sweeps of the top three places in the 1000 free, the 100 free and the 200 backstroke.
