SCRANTON, Pa. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) earned 27 points for Goucher by finishing first in three individual events in today's Landmark Conference meet against Marywood.
First place in the remaining 12 individual events and both relays went to the Pacers, who earned a 154-84 victory over head coach Thomas Till's squad.
Craver's first win was in the 100-yard breaststroke, which she completed in 1:14.36. The runner-up was Marywood's Hailey Moorehead (1:15.27).
The junior's next event was the 500 freestyle and she beat out Marywood's Kayleigh Velott by more than 20 seconds with her winning time of 5:37.16, which makes her only the ninth female swimmer in school history to post a time under 5:40 in the 500 free.
Craver's final event was the 200 individual medley where she was clocked at 2:24.36.
In addition to the three first-place performances by Craver, Goucher swimmers took second in three events: Lillian Eden (Ipswich, Mass./Westover) in the 1000 free (12:10.56), Tierney Doran (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) in the 100 backstroke (1:15.98) and Catherine Gepner (West Allenhurst, N.J./Ocean Twp.) in the 100 butterfly (1:09.07).
Goucher's entry of Eden, Doran, Gepner and Patrice D'Orazio (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph Hill Academy) turned in a time of 2L01.40 in the 200 free relay, good for second place.
Today's meet against the Pacers (6-8, 3-4 Landmark) was the final one of the regular season for the Gophers (2-9, 0-7 Landmark), who now begins to prepare for the Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships that will be held here Feb. 7-9.
