Craver Scores in All Three Individual Races at YJI

RICHMOND, Va. — A trio of top-15 finishes from Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) highlighted Goucher's performance at the two-day Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon this weekend.
The first of those results for the senior co-captain came in the 200-yard individual medley on Friday night. She completed the race in 2:21.43, a time which ranked her 13th out of a field of 26 swimmers.
The following afternoon, Craver posted the highest individual result of the meet for the Gophers with her 10th-place showing in the 400 IM (4:59.28). She concluded her individual race schedule with a time of 2:41.21 in the 200 breaststroke. That was good enough for 14th place out of 30 competing swimmers.
Alexis Regopoulos (Fitchburg, Mass./North Middlesex Regional) registered Goucher's other top-16 result. She placed 12th in the 500 freestyle after touching in at 5:30.25. The top relay performance for the Gophers came in the 200 free relay on Friday. Goucher's foursome of Kyanna Cadwallader (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville), Craver, Regopoulos and Lizzy Hannifin (Denver, Colo./East) finished in a tie for 10th place with a time of 1:46.85.
Hannifin also just missed out on scoring in the 50 free, where she posted a 26.04 and ended up in 17th place.
There were a total of 18 women's events contested over the weekend. The Gophers accumulated a total of 72 points which ranked them eighth out of the 10 squads that registered team scores. Washington & Lee took first place with 1126.5 points, 592.5 points ahead of second-place St. Mary's (Md.).
Goucher now has an extended break before returning to the von Borries Aquatic Center for its final home meet of the season against Marywood on Saturday, Jan. 17.
