Swimming Teams Fail to Capture a Win at Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Saturday the men's and women's swimming team traveled to D.C. for a Landmark Conference meet against Catholic.

Despite losing the meet, several of the women's swimming team members had impressive performances. Senior Ila Jackson (Columbia, Md.) came away from the day with two second-place finishes, one in the 50-yard freestyle and one in the 100-yard butterfly.

Third-place finishers on the day for the women's team were sophomore Katie Shannon (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) in the 1000-yard freestyle, freshman Jamie Damm (Middletown, Md.) in the 100-yard freestyle, and freshman Hallie Stewart (Chesapeake, Va.) in the 500-yard freestyle.

The men's team also had a few standouts, primarily sophomore Ryan Freeburg (Middletown, Del.) who placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard breaststroke.

Freshman Jackson Penner (Newille, Pa.) placed third in the 100-yard freestyle, and junior Hugh MacConvery placed second in the 400-yard IM.

The swimming teams will be back in action on December first as they travel to Gallaudet.
