WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Goucher picked up three points
today because its opponent forfeited two doubles matches and one
singles match, but head coach Sally Baum's squad (2-8) still
suffered a 6-3 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic.
The Sailfish (7-8) won all six contested matches, including four
singles matches in straight sets. At first singles, Natalie Aleman
defeated Carly Heinz (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch
Plains-Fanwood) 6-1, 6-2; at No. 2, Viviane Lebed posted a
6-4, 6-1 win over Tanya Cooley (Arlington,
VA/Wakefield).
Katie Livesay and Christina Brown were victorious at No. 2 doubles,
9-7 over Stephanie Austin (Woodbridge, CT/Amity
Regional) and Christina Grimm (Greenwich, CT/New
Hampton).
