WASHINGTON, DC — Goucher won one of the six singles
matches and one of the three doubles matches today in a 7-2 loss to
Catholic.
The win in singles play was achieved by Christina Grimm
(Greenwich, CT/New Hampton). She knocked off Mary Wargo of
the Cardinals at No. 5, 6-4, 6-4.
The Gophers (3-9) prevailed at No. 3 doubles: Sally Gordon
(Onacock, VA/Bridgewater Academy) and Chloe
Scott-Giry (Amagansett, NY/Ross School) defeated Maureen
Costello and Wargo, 8-6.
