MADISON, N.J. – Carly Heinz (Scotch Plains,
N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) and Chloe Scott-Giry
(Amagansett, N.Y./The Ross School) represent Goucher on
the 2009 All-Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Team.
Voting that determined the All-Landmark performers was done by the conference's head coaches. As it was revealed today, the all-conference squad consists of a first team and a second team, with six singles players and three doubles pairings on each.
Heinz and Scott-Giry were both placed on the All-Landmark second team and recognized for their performances during the 2008-09 season in singles competition. Heinz fashioned a 6-4 record playing exclusively at No. 2 in Goucher's singles line-up. Scott-Giry led the Gophers in singles wins as she went 16-1 playing at either No. 4 or No. 5. Her only loss was to a Division II player from Shepherd.
Both are repeat all-conference selections: Heinz earned first-team All-Landmark recognition for singles play in 2007-08 and Scott-Giry was picked along with Christina Grimm as one of the top three doubles pairings during the Landmark's inaugural season.
