singles matches on the way to a convincing 9-0 triumph over
Lancaster Bible this afternoon.
Joan Pulupa (Gaithersburg, Md./Richard Montgomery) registered a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lancaster Bible's Michelle Ringler at No. 2 singles, while the rest of her teammates all posted 6-0, 6-0 wins: Tanya Cooley (Arlington, Va./Wakefield) at No. 1, Mouna Attarha (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont) at No. 3, Chloe Scott-Giry (Amagansett, N.Y./The Ross School) at No. 4, Mara Bergman (Summit, N.J./Summit) at No. 5 and Jacqui Lamer (Pomona, N.Y./Ramapo) at No. 6.
The Gophers (2-0) also swept the three doubles matches. At No. 1, Cooley and Scott-Giry combined for an 8-1 win over Ringler and Megan Petticoffer. Pulupa and Attarha pinned an 8-0 setback on Kelsey Scott and Ashley Bell of the Chargers at No. 2, and Hilary Fast (Wilton, Maine/Mt. Blue) and Andrea Stephaich (Pittsburgh, Pa./The Ellis School) prevailed by the same score at No. 3.
