ORLANDO, Fla. — Freshman Ariel Lin (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) improved to 9-1 in singles play this season, but the win she achieved at No. 2 singles provided Goucher with its only point in an 8-1 loss to Wisconsin-La Crosse today.

Lin defeated Olivia Hartwick 5-7, 7-6 (5), 1-0 (14-12) to produce the only highlight as far as the Gophers (5-2) were concerned in the one and only match they competed in during their Spring Break trip.

The Eagles (14-2) took the remaining five singles matches in straight sets with Jenny Maruyama getting by Meaghan Lee (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 and Abby Tresedder coming out on top of Mara Bergman (Summit, N.J./Summit) 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.
