TOWSON, Md. — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its first individual rankings of the season for Division III today, with Goucher's Amanda Bercovici (Hackensack, N.J./Bergen Tech) moving up to 13th for singles in the Atlantic South region.
Bercovici gained 11 spots from her No. 24 preseason ranking. She has gone 7-2 in singles since the spring season began, with the only two defeats coming to regionally-ranked players from D-II and D-III. One of her victories was a super tiebreak win over Salisbury's Natalie Savage, who was ranked 15th in this week's list, while another was a super tiebreak triumph over D-II Kutztown.
For the season, Bercovici has a 16-3 record in singles matches. She is 11-2 in dual matches, all of which have been from the No. 1 spot. Bercovici is also undefeated in her first two Landmark matchups, with a pair of straight-set victories over Moravian and Scranton. Moravian came in at No. 19 in this week's Atlantic South team standings.
The second regular season ITA rankings will be released on Thursday, April 10. The Gophers next match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Susquehanna this Saturday.
