TOWSON, Md. — Goucher will have to wait until Wednesday for another shot at its first Landmark Conference win of the 2015-16 campaign as Sally Baum's squad fell to Juniata, 8-1, this afternoon.

  • Meera Balasubramanian (Bel Air, Md./Oldfields School) earned the team's lone point of the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Theresa Joson at No. 6 singles.
  • Aside from Balasubramanian's win, the closest match, in score, for the Gophers (3-10, 0-5 Landmark) was in doubles play. Kirsten Cianci (Bolton, Conn./Bolton) and Leigh Oehrig (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg), competing at No. 1 doubles, fell to Rachel Yurchisin and Katharine Conklin 8-5.
  • The Eagles (7-5, 2-0 Landmark) swept the other five singles matches in straight sets.

Goucher hosts Elizabethtown on Wednesday. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
