BALTIMORE, Md. – The Goucher women's tennis contest, originally scheduled for Saturday at Dickinson, has been postponed due to rainy conditions in Carlisle, Pa. The match has been rescheduled for September 21 in Carlisle, Pa.
The contest was supposed to be the Gophers second match of the fall after they were edged 5-4 by Rutgers-Camden on Sept. 8. Anais Gill (Cambridge, England/Hills Road Sixth Form College) and Mandile Mpofu (Harare, Zimbabwe/Arundel School) won their No. 1 doubles match 8-3. Mpofu won her No. 2 singles match in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 and Gill won in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 while freshman Ceri McCaffrey (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4 singles in her collegiate debut.
Goucher returns to action at Dickinson on Sept. 21 and will host the Goucher Invitational on Sept. 28-29 for its next match on the Baltimore campus.
